P.E

What is Social Responsibility?
Social Responsibility is attitudes and values made into levels to help students succeed and show respect in Physical Education and Health. Teachers teach Social Responsibility in hopes of helping their students to show a high level of Social Resposibility everywhere they go and not only in specific learning areas.

What level did you display? How?
I think that I showed level 3 most of the time by helping others and participating in all activities.

How can you improve for the next lesson?
I can improve by helping to clean and pack up after every practical lesson.

What makes me a typical Tongan? Eat to much. Talk and swear to much. Have anger issues. Has many talents. What’s it all about? Answer the following questions as full sentences that include the question. What is a mongrel and why has the poet used it in the poem? A mongrel is a dog. He's telling us that people around south Auckland go running around and being crazy. Do you think the post agrees with the stereotypes? Yes. Because he's explaining to the readers how the world is going right now and telling us how we treat other races. What is the poem about (what is its theme)? Stereotypes and cultures. He's telling us how other culture act. Is it better to have an identity individually or as part of a group? (This may take a paragraph to answer it fully) I would want to show it individually because it's part of culture to show pride and respect. I’d Rather Be I’d rather be Hot then cold. I’d rather be higher than low. I’d rather be independent then being controlled. I’d give than stealing gold. I’d rather be Hot then Gold. Danger. Blue are violet and Red are Rose. I can dance and show you my pose. Eating peanut butter while touching my toes. I love my brothers and sisters imma show them whats up. Negative is not the answer no more holocaust. But surely my loyalty will not come to debate ,imma show all dem haters ,cause haters gon hate. Cause we positive and negative when something's really bad we all brothers and sisters no determination no more being mad. Don't be jealous so stop the stereotyping black and white people should stop the bad stop sniping. At a time in your life you would go to past. Live your life people are going real fast. Doesn’t mean that i’m poor. Doesn't mean that i look like a person knocking on peoples door. Doesn't mean that i'm your enemy. And doesn’t mean that i can't look for a job. Just because i'm different. Doesn't mean that im Maori Doesn’t mean that i like Kapa haka And does not mean that i have a lot of family Just because i'm different Just because i'm different. Doesn't mean that im bad. Doesn't mean that i look mad. And doesn’t mean that im a thief. Just because i’m different. I’d rather be Hot then cold. I’d rather be higher than low. 1080 Perspective

I agree that there should be 1080 so that the Rodents ,and possums don't eat the farmers crops. I agree that it really helps farmers plant more seeds and crops. I think that 1080 should be known all around New Zealanders so that it can be sprayed around local gardens.

What type of Minister would I pick to be?

If I had the chance to be a Minister i would chose to be the Minister of social and Development.

First off i would like to say is that i was one of 100 kids at risk and was nearly ending up in home where kids who are violent and angry were. I would want to start up Leadership programs and mentoring programs. It would be great and awesome for the kids. They would become more focus on the obstacle courses and mentor ship course. I would be willing to help those kids in needs and give them the things they need. Ill want to be looked up as one of the most precious and introduce Ministers in History.

Tolerance

Tolerance -

Willingness to recognise and respect the beliefs or practices of others.
An example of when the students showed tolerance
Of each other was when they were eager to learn when ms Gruwell came in and taught them.
When the students drew a picture of another students, Mocking his lips - Ms Gruwell spoke to them about the holocaust .
Another example is when the student told the class his story about his family being evictedI think tolerance of other races is important
Because we are all human beings that learn and respect each other because we're equal.

Cyber Smart

                                             Cybersmart

What it means to be cybersmart and why it is important
  • To be safe online
  • Post appropriate things online

Two things you learnt about being cybersmart and how you could apply it to your own life
Describe one of each:

Two things i’ve learnt about cybersmart is that you have to make sure you post appropriate stuff online ,so that people don’t go mocking you and calling you names that will get them in trouble. Cybersmart safety is being safe on online. Which means don’t put anything of your personal stuff online that can put you in danger of a bad person.

A personal strategy a young person can do to help themselves if they are being cyberbullied

  • Get off the device that you are on and call your parents to come and see what's happening.
  • Block them or unfriend them. If that doesn’t help screenshot and send it to 3 people that you trust.

A interpersonal strategy a young person can do to help their friend who is being cyberbullied

  • First thing to do is to talk to the attacker who is cyberbullying and just ask him if he/she could stop being mean to the young fellow
  • If that doesn’t work then you should go to a social worker and talk with them about what happened. And if that doesn’t work and its really big then you would have to screenshot the images and give it to the police.

A personal strategy a young person who finds themselves bullying other young people can do to help build their self-esteem and change their behaviour

  • Talk with the person who is getting bullied and ask if there alright and just say sorry for what you have done. Second delete the stuff you have done to her/him and make friends.

Tips to give to the year 6s about how they could become cybersmart

  • Give them really good simple rules that they will understand and do. For example (because there young) block the user ,unfriend the user ,or report the user. Or if it doesn't work call your nearby adult to help you.

Article about Plastic Bags

Today i read about an article on how the government is banndeing plastic bags. The decision is that plastic bags are going to be banned by the nz government . Around New Zealand the people will be affected by it because there will be no plastic bags for rubbish. In my opinon I think it's a great idea to ban plastic bags. It could prevent animals dying everyday because of plastic bags.

Changes in Tokelau

The first change that has happened in Tokelau is the population.

The reason for this change is that when children get the opportunity to get education in the outside world they get fasanted about the things out there then they settle there and never come back.

The second change that has happened in Tokelau is there is global warming which means that the water is melting from ice in the south of the atlantic ocean which rises the sea level this is called climate change.

Roles of women in tokelau.

Ladies in Tokelau are now allowed to be present in the chiefs and council meetings/Fono. People are now understanding why women are expected at Fono/Meetings with men. Women are allowed to be particular roles in the island ,such as a policewoman and so on. I think women are allowed to do what they do. They respect their elders. Women also work well with their fellow members.

Camp Adair

At camp there was one particular thing i really liked ,was when we had to build a raft. I found it challenging working with team mates. It was fun because we learnt how to build a raft and what to do if we were lost in the middle of the sea. To be honest i didn't really wanna go to camp ,but i should of just said thanks for the opportunity.  With building the raft i just loved how we worked as a team and knew what we were doing. I loved the person who was teaching us how to build it ,he was very nice. For a thought there i think camp was average i don't really like leaving home ,but anyways it was pretty fun. My highlights were camp item that was the best part for entertainment and laughter. It challenging for me to sleep near people and leaving my stuff there thinking that someone will take some of my clothes. For me as a student of Tamaki i think that i begun to learn about different things and to  Conquer my fears. The year nines for next should bring more clothes due to water activities and raining days ,they should remember to bring covered shoes and a hat for safety reasons.

The Story Of Tamaki Makaurau (in my own Words)

         The Story of Tamaki Makaurau
Tamaki Makaurau is the Maori name for Auckland.

Long ago there once lived some people called the Patupaiarehe. But they did not get along so to avoid getting into fights they splitted apart. One of the tribes (Iwi) lived in Hunua ranges down south and the other tribe lived on the other side out west on the Waitakere ranges ,so they were out of each others way. On some nights two young members from the tribes will often play a game. They would sneak out and race quietly to the other (iwi) to get a token and show there friends they been there. On one night Hui (Waitakere son) came home with nothing in his hands ,the other youngsters started teasing him for not coming home with nothing. So the next night Hui ran again but didn't return home with the rest of the boys ,so they became upset and angry and telling each other they should of take,n, good care of him. When the rangatira found out that Hui didn't return home with his fellow friends he was angry and demanded war to happen but so as they saw to people walking towards them it was Hui holding a young beautiful. So instead of bringing back a token he brought her. Hui's father was delighted and begun to ask questions he ask what was her name ,she replied 'I am Wairere the daughter of Hunua. When the chief heard that his daughter was over at the Waitakere ranges they came marching down hard at Waitakere. So Waitakere took magic out of the earth and cast over them and they began to fall down one by one. After he open the hole underneath the ground the god of volcanoes and earthquakes Appeared and was angry at Waitakere. And that's the story of Tamaki Makaurau.

Rise Values

Responsibility=Having the Responsibility to get to class on time and stop marking around.
Integrity=Being honest on why you were late to class.
Success=Having the purpose of why you were late to class and having a good excuse.
Respect=Being respectful to teacher and making sure your there early waiting to be let in.

How should we use our rise values in class?
We should show that we care about our learning and about why teachers are here to teach us. We should show what's the purpose about our learning.

Why should we show rise values in class?
So that the teacher can give us higher marks. And that we can focus and strive higher on our learning.

Why do you think some students find it difficult to maintain these values?  I think cause its just how they act at home they dont wanna learn at school.
